The Panel on Non-Tangible Cultural Heritages was held by Kütahya Research and Application Center for Folk Dances of our University with the participation of the president of UNESCO Turkish National Commission and Specialized Comittee of UTMK Non-physical Cultural Heritages Prof. Dr. M. Öcal Oğuz, the members of Specialized Comittee of UTMK Non-Tangible Cultural Heritages Assoc. Prof. Evrim Ölçer Özünel, the member of Specialized Comittee of UTMK Non-Tangible Cultural Heritages Dr. Selcan Gürçayır as the speakers.
The team under the presidency of the General- Secretariat of Zafer Development Agency, the Former UNESCO Permanent Representative and the present Ambassador in charge of UTNC’s Deputy Presidency have visited Esteemed Hüseyin Avni BOTSALI on 10.03.2017. His very valuable experiences and recommendations have been utilized.
Experiences and fund of knowledge gained as a result of preliminary and lobbying works carried out since the first half of 2016 have been offered to all the relevant institutions’ and shareholders’ interest in our city.

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) Creative Cities Network’s Nomination Committee Meeting was held.
The first meeting between the experts of Zafer Development Agency and the experts of UTNC has been held on 22.03.2016. The first steps of the application for UNESCO Creative Cities Network have been taken, and a detailed and fruitful contact meeting has been held.
UNESCO’s Office in New York and the capital of New Mexico Santa- Fe have been visited between 10-16 December 2016.
The Secretary- General of Zafer Development Agency Yusuf BALCI, the Unit President İskender Cem LEBLEBİCİ and the Expert Hacer ERİŞ, the representative of Kütahya’s Mayor Mehmet ZENCİ and the craftsman of tile Mehmet GÜRSOY have made visits to Sasayama and Kanazawa, cities of Japan, on 16-23 July 2016.
The handover ceremony arranged at the City Council of Kütahya Culture and Art Center of the poetry book Kalemden Kalbe ,written by Şaban Şükrü Sarı -one of our city’s poets- with Kütahya Dialect and published by means of Kütahya Governorate, attended by our Mayor Esteemed Kamil Saraçoğlu.
The award ceremony of Kütahya Municipality International Çini was held. Our Mayor of Kütahya Municipality Kamil Saraçoğlu ,who always attaches great importance to art and artists, contributed to the development of our Çini and demonstrated how much he appreciates the artists once again by means of this competition .
Our Mayor esteemed Kamil Saraçoğlu and protocol members presented their certificates to the students who finished their courses successfully.
Governor Ahmet Hamdi Nayir received Director of Provincial of Culture and Tourism ZülkarniYeldemez and the board along with him within the scope of the 41st Tourism Week events.

The Unit President İskender Cem LEBLEBİCİ and the Expert Hacer ERİŞ, Director of Cultural and Social Affairs of Kütahya Municipality Mehmet ZENCİ and the craftsman of tile Mehmet GÜRSOY have visited Icheon, South Korea on 7-14 May 2017.
2 workshops have been held on 07.04.2017 and 12.04.2017 for the events including questions about UNESCO Creative Cities Network Application with the representatives of relevant public institutions and craftsmen in the Participatory Support Group. Therefore, the application file’s content has been prepared through the participation and support of all the relevant parties.
Unit President of Zafer Development Agency Cem LEBLECİCİ and Expert Hacer ERİŞ have met one of the Experts of Ministry of Culture and Tourism Serkan Emir ERKMEN on 27.01. 2017. A meeting has been held to utilize the experiences Mr. Serkan gained from Çini’s Being Included in The List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Having came to Kütahya to attend a panel held at Dumlupınar University, the Chairman of the National Commission of UNESCO Prof. Dr. Öcal Oğuz paid a visit to the Governor Ahmet Hamdi Nayir.
The meeting under the presidency of Governor Ahmet Hamdi Nayir was attended by our Mayor Kamil Saraçoğlu, DPU’s Rector Prof. Dr. Remzi Gören, the Chairman of Kütahya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nafi Güral, The Secretary- General of ZEKA Yusuf Balcı, the Chairman of the Chamber of Craftsmen of Çini Sadık Erilbaylı and the members of the nomination committee.
The historical and cultural values of Kanazawa have been visited on 21 July 2016. Kenrokuen Gardenand Circumference of Kanazawa Castle Park, Nagamachi Yuzenkan (Yuzen Silk Center), Nomura Samurai Family Residence and The Kanazawa Citizens’ Art Center have been in the visit list.
The 2nd meeting has been held between Zafer Development Agency and UTNC at the level of Unit Presidents on 22.04.2016. Zafer Development Agency has given information about the works being carried out to UTNC, and the reviews and recommendations of the authorities of UTNC have been received.
The Year-End Exhibition of Kütahya Municipality Education Center for Handicrafts was inaugurated at Municipality Culture Palace.
Having been arranged for 40 years in Kütahya, International Kütahya Craftworks and Trade Fair has opened as “The Festival of Çini, Thermal, Culture, Art and Tourism” this year for the 41st time.
Having been a host for the civilizations of Hittite, Phrygian, Rome, Hellen, Byzantine, Seljuk, Germiyan and Ottoman since the chalcolithic age, Kütahya always gained its reputation by its çini and ceramic manufacturing , along with its 7 thousand year old ancient history.
The pedestrian underpass decorated with the tile and ceramic works of 15 craftsmen in our city and constructed a while ago in Kütahya, was put into service with a ceremony.
International Craftworks and Trade Fair being held for the 40th time was inaugurated through a ceremony this year in Kütahya.
Having been arranged within the scope of the operations carried out by the General Assembly of WIPO , The Exhibition on Geographical Indications of Turkey containing our traditional values ,which was held on 3-11 December at Geneva, was inaugurated .
